While I get your argument, I think that the reason that most people don't "want" to hear the reasons WHY is because they feel they'll just never understand.  We, us IT people, seem to make things appear to be much more difficult than they are.  I always tell people if they want to learn the technology, there are books; but if they want to learn how that technology can help them, they must work in IT.

		<description>I always try to explain reasons behind why things work the way they do.  But you could end up working with people like I do who deem everything "unacceptable" if it doesn't work the way they think it should.  Working in IT is the reason I smoke cigs (stress) and keep my hair short (otherwise I would pull it out).  Mostly I find the non-technical users aren't interested in the WHY, only that it DOES whatever they want it to do (right or wrong).</description>
